Week 1 Down 51 to Go

I can't believe that we are already into the second week of 2012. I have all the photos for week one of Project 52 I just have to get it scrapped. Also my One Little Word is going excellent. It sure did test me this weekend as my son went to visit his dad. My ex doesn't contact me once the whole two weeks I have him before he gets him. But the second hes go him he blast my phone with text messages stating stuff such as; That his fingernails are too long and dirty. I stayed calm and told him that he had a bath the night before and his nails were clean. He is a boy who plays at recess at school. Then his fingernails were too long to my ex, well I don't believe that they should be cut down to the cuticle its not my fault you cant stand to see the whites of his fingernails. Then you are complaining that i am not looking for work. Dude you haven't worked in over a year yes I may have been getting child support but that was because you were getting unemployment but I haven't got any in over 5 months. Yes I am looking for a job but with our son having appointments with a developmental pediatrician, soon to be weekly speech therapy appointment's along with a sensory specialist. I do want to work but I also don't want to be working just for his daycare costs.

As I mentioned in yesterdays post I would post what I heard from the doctor. At little back story first. Hayden was a late start in his milestones  He did do all the milestones up to the age of 6 months such as smile sit up roll over on to his back. He didn't start crawling til almost a year old and didn't walk til almost 18 months. By they age of two hardly ever spoke and when he did it was usually babble. So I got him into early intervention for his speech at the age of two. They taught him how to sign until he could start making some sounds other then babbling. His first word was mom at the age of 2 and a half. He didn't start fully talking like two-four words till a year later at almost 4. Around the Age of 4 they were starting to suspect that he had a form of Autism but they wanted to get him into kindergarten first and see how he did with other kids his age. Well kindergarten rolls around and they still suspected it along with ADHD so I got a refferal to a developmental pediatrician. I went to see him in December of 2011 and he said he was almost positive that Hayden wasn't autistic but needed to test him for it. So before I left the appointment he gave me some questionnaires for his teacher and myself to fill out and to fax them before the followup appointment today. Well according to the test results from the questionnaire He is diagnosing Hayden as a child who is not in the Autism Spectrum nor diagnosing him with ADHD. He wants to do one more followup appointment with the same questionnaire that he gave the teacher and myself to see if there is any changes in 3 months. But he is positive on his diagnoses. I asked him why he was showing signs of having ADHD and he says that some of the answers the teacher and myself answered on the  questionnaire was pointing to SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) and that the OT will diagnose him next month if he does have it. He also gave me a couple book ideas that I should read on about SPD.

Way too Quiet Weekend

It is way to quiet in my house it is always like this every other weekend when my son is at his dads for the weekend. Every other Friday after I pick up Hayden from kindergarten we walk about a mile to the local train station and ride it about 50 minutes then he spends the weekend at his dads place til Sunday night. Then Monday morning at 9 am I have an appointment with a developmental pediatrician regarding his test results about Autism and ADHD. I will post here and on Facebook with what I hear from the doctor. Lastly  I managed to get 3 layouts done and very happy with how they turned out.

Perseverance and a New Me

Happy New Years everyone hope everyone had a great 2011 and was safe last night.

Every year I say that I am going to be starting all these little projects and I never seem to complete them will this year I know I am going to stick to them no matter what life tries to throw at me. I plan on doing One Little Word you can check it out here at the amazing Ali Edwards blog Here. Also I plan on doing a form of either P52 or P366 (leap year). I plan on blogging more and scraping more as my layout I completed last year is quite sad to say hardly any. I also plan/hoping to find some employment.

My One Little Word is Perseverance as I stated in the post below and I apologize now if i seem to be repeating anything.

What is Perseverance?
  • Perseverance is commitment, hard work, patience, endurance.
  • Perseverance is being able to bear difficulties calmly and without complaint.
This seems perfect for what I am dealing with lately in my life. First and in no particular order.

My communication with my sons father. I have been doing great for the most part trying to keep my calm when I need to talk to him about our sons school or anything that concerns our son but it is quite hard trying to keep my cool when he rambles on how he blames me for his everything that he this is wrong with his life. To name a few he loves to blame me for causing him to get divorced and having to move back home with his parents, for the back child support, for him not able to hold down a job longer than a month. I need to just let him ramble on like I have been doing the last few months and not let him get to me.

I want to be able to have more patience with my family I know that there is no such things as a perfect family we all have our faults. I want to have more patience and no be so stressed about the little things. I also want to work on my weight, I say every new years that I plan on losing the weight and I never do so my goal is to by this time next year I hope to be down 65 pounds. I will be watching my calorie intake each day and exercise 45 minutes five times a week and hopefully by the time summer ends I will be the weight I want to be.

I also want to document more daily life with my son and myself. I want to capture the little things as well as the big things. Also to take better photos with my basic point and shoot camera. I want my son later on in life to look back and see all the stuff from his childhood. I hope to do this through layouts and Project 52.

Lastly, I need to find employment I haven't worked since 2004 sure I have volunteered with the state department and at my sons school but I know its going to be a challenge as my son is going to be having weekly speech classes and multiple appointments with doctors regarding a diagnose of ADHD or Autism. So I am hoping by summer or possibly fall.

Thanks for reading this ginormous post.

Here is to a Fantastic 2012
